柚子、柿子、枣子、栗子......秋天那么多夸姣的食物，英语怎么说？

Autumn仍是Fall？

fall=autumn. It's what Americans say: fall就是autumn, 可是是美语的说法

比方：

• Fall is my favorite seaon of the year: 秋天是我独爱的时节

• Fall sale: 秋季打折

• Fall fashion: 秋季时髦

Seasonal fall food: fruit, vegetable, desserts, drinks: 今日聊聊秋季当季食物：生果、蔬菜、甜点、饮料

What's in season: 当季的、时令的

＃1. Pomelo 柚子

#1. Citrus: 柑橘类植物

• Pomelo 柚子

• Grape fruit 西柚

• Mandarin oranges 橘子

We wanted to talk about fall foods because we were eating pomelo in the office the other day. 咱们之所以会谈论秋天的食物，是因为那天咱们在单位吃柚子。

We called Mandarin oranges "cuties"：我国的橘子也叫“cuties"小心爱

#2. Persimmon 柿子

Persimmon: 柿子

• Unripe persimmons taste dry：假定柿子没熟，吃起来就很涩

• Ripe: 熟的

• Ripen: 放熟

These words can also describe avocado: 这些词也能描述牛油果

There is another kind of persimmon. When it's crunch

or crisp, you can eat it. 还有一种柿子。脆脆硬硬的，也可以吃。

In grocery stores, you can find apple crisps or veggie crisps. 在超市里，你就可以看到许多苹果脆、蔬菜脆这样的零食。

I used to think they're very healthy. Actually they're NOT. 我早年认为这些东西很安康，其实一点儿不！

Diana hasn't seen fresh dates in the states yet. Diana在美国没见过新鲜的枣子。

There is a very popular British dessert: sticky date pudding. 有个挺盛行的英式点心就是枣子做的：干枣布丁（看起来挺像枣糕的）

#4. Chestnuts 栗子

You can buy fresh chestnuts or roasted chestnuts in America. 在美国，你可以买到新鲜的栗子或许糖炒栗子。

In fall, you can smell the aroma in the air in Shanghai. 在上海的秋天，你可以在空气中闻到这种香味。

除了糖炒栗子的香味，上海的秋天还有一种不可以错失的味道：

osmanthus 桂花

I love walking on the street and smelling osmanthus. 我真爱在路上随意逛逛，闻闻桂花的香味。

It smells like candy and very sweet. 桂花闻起来像糖块相同，非常甜美。

Jenny hasn't seen osmanthus in North America. Maybe they just don't grow there. Jenny在北美没见过桂花，可以它们就不生长在那里。

#5. Candy hawthorn 冰糖葫芦

It's Diana's favorite! 冰糖葫芦是Diana的独爱。

Fresh hawthorn is not common in America, either. 新鲜山楂在美国也不常见。

But there is similar food there: candied apple/toffee apple/caramel apple. 不过美国也有类似的食物：冰糖苹果、太妃苹果、焦糖苹果

They make a very healthy

fruit into something that's absolute bad for you. But it tastes good. 他们把非常安康的生果加工成了对你身体不好的食物。可是吃起来真是不错。

Once a while, it should be OK. 偶尔吃一次，大约还好。

I've personally never eaten one, but I've always been tempted. 我自个历来没吃过，不过它老是引诱着我。

美国秋天好吃的

#1. Pumpkin 南瓜

Pumpkin spiced everything when it's fall. 当秋天到来的时分，啥东西都是南瓜味的。

Pumpkin spiced latte, pumpkin pie, pumpkin milk shake...南瓜拿铁，南瓜派，南瓜奶昔……

Pumpkin is popular from Halloween to Thanksgiving. 南瓜会从万圣节盛行到感恩节。

节日限制：

• Halloween: jack o lantern 万圣节是南瓜灯

• Thanksgiving: pumpkin pie 感恩节是南瓜派

这儿的"spiced" 不是辣的，而是指用香料调过味的。

#2. Spice 各种香料

• cinnamon 肉桂

• nutmeg 豆蔻

• ginger 生姜

It makes you feel warm inside. 这些香料让你感触暖暖的。

所以圣诞节的时分，必定要有：

• ginger bread cookies 姜饼

• ginger bread man/house 姜饼人、姜饼屋

这一点和中医理论也不谋而合呢，冬天就得吃点暖暖的东西。

#3. sweet potato 红薯

Americans like roasted sweet potatoes. 美国人也喜爱烤红薯。

I don't think it's the most hygienic. It depends on the huge can. 我觉得不太清洁。这取决于那个烤红薯的筒干不洁净。

不过别怕:

You can microwave it. 你可以用微波炉烤红薯。

You put the butter and you cut the sweet potato. 你把黄油放在切好的红薯上。

Butter melts. It tastes so good. 黄油会化掉，吃起来非常香。

But it puts on a lot of weight. 不过这样会很增肥。

最终来只大闸蟹

Alghough nowadays, you can find these foods anytime, seasonal food always tastes the best. 尽管如今如同啥时分都可以吃到这些食物，不过当季的食物永久是最佳吃的！
