Since new regulations on ride-hailing services have come into force across China, drivers have been applying for the accreditation examination.

自从网约车服务的新规定在中国生效起,网约车司机已经在申请认证考试。

In Beijing, the exam is composed of three parts.

For the national public test that takes 60 minutes, drivers are examined on general knowledge of the industry, such as taxi laws and regulations, professional ethics and safe operation.

The second part is centered on theoretical knowledge of Beijing, including the just-released regulations, online riding-hailing service specifications, practical English skills, and urban traffic geographic information.

30-minute exam, proficiency of English listening comprehension has grabbed the limelight.

Drivers are expected to master 26 polite sentences with high usage frequency while providing taxi services, such as "Welcome to Beijing!", "It’s my pleasure to serve you," and "Would you like the air-conditioning on?"

司机在提供出租车服务的同时,需要掌握26个使用频率高的礼貌性的句子,例如“欢迎来到北京!”,“很高兴为您服务,”和“您想开空调吗?”

According to media reports, dialects are also covered in the test in some cities like Guangzhou.

The next part targets the drivers’ application of skills.

An 8-minute field interview aims to examine applicants’ proficiency on driving ability, ride-hailing order arrangement, and service standard.

ride-hailing service after surpassing 60 points in the test with the maximum mark of 100.

In addition, drivers who fail the exam can apply for a make-up chance 30 days after the previous attempt.

The accreditation examination is free of charge to all the applicants.
